Meet your doula…

Viergeni White CD(DONA)

I feel like time stops when a baby is born. It’s like nothing else in the world matters, but this little tiny slimy human taking their first breath and coming skin-to-skin with their fierce mama. Mom’s first clutch of what she brought into the world is nothing short of breath-stopping. I would have to say I fell in love with birth when I was 11 years old at the birth of my little brother. I was in awe of the power of a woman and how life begins. My next encounter wouldn’t be until 2015 when I birthed my first little human during a husband coached un-medicated hospital birth attended by a wonderful Doula. “Every woman deserves to have this!” I said to myself in reference to the Doula support I received. I loved my birth and still to this day I can reflect on it with pleasant and empowering memories. I had my second baby in November of 2019. This time I experienced an unmedicated home water birth with the care of my husband and midwives and it was amazing!

As you might be able to assume, becoming a first time and then second time Mama can take you on a ride…I cruised for 3 years from my first birth and in 2018 I decided to enter the birth world and began my journey of becoming a Doula. I sat under a wonderful Bradley Method and Doula Trainer, Atoosa Benji, gaining my official credentials in August 2020. I have completed a variety of births in hospitals, at home and in birthing centers allowing me the benefit of seeing birth in it’s multi-faceted nature. In June of 2021 I welcomed my third child at home via unmedicated water birth.

What I believe:

I believe pregnancy and birth is a natural event. I also believe women should be empowered through their own personal preferences, evidence based research and education to experience it however they desire. Unmedicated birth is possible and enjoyable, however, I understand that this cannot always be achieved. Every woman deserves and can benefit from the care of a Birth Doula no matter the course of her birthing journey and I am willing to hold space wherever that journey takes us.

My Inspiration…

I have an amazing supportive husband who has coached me through three unforgettable births.

My 8 year old little girl was an unmedicated hospital birth, my 24 year old son was a home water-birth and my 2.5 yr old son was a home water-birth.

We tested our parenting skills on our 11 year old rescue before making him a big brother. He’s a delight.

What you might not know about me…

My hubby and I have the same birthday and have been married for 11 years. He truly helped me understand the value of the partner in childbirth.
